Autoships are a rare sight; both more expensive than a traditionally-driven shuttle, and less reliable, they are generally meant to hold just one mech and one pilot, and even come with a function to just be piloted by a single person.

And this is why they’re rare. Nobody in their right minds would ever come to a mission alone. Nobody wants to go to a dangerous combat zone alone with zero backup.

You’d have to be either stupid, desperate or well-aware of the horrific trap you’re setting yourself up for.
