BOOK 1 – PAGE 86
The 33i-IDENTIFIER is the UAN’s grunt mech, and the kid brother of the 32i-DESTROYER. They use the same general machinery and frame, but the IDENTIFIER is a more stripped-down version, meant to deal with domestic threats; for all the UAN’s apathy towards outer-rim worlds, they don’t want to completely destroy the infrastructure.
Typically equipped with one melee weapon of choice and one firearm, this particular IDENTIFIER has a shotgun/axe combo. It’s not particularly useful in normal combat, but it’ll stop a riot with a single shot.
And that’s all the UAN needs.
J does not like Halo, it seems.
“a shotgun/axe combo. It’s not particularly useful in normal combat, but it’ll stop a riot with a single shot.”
You can’t HAVE a riot if everyone in the riot is DEAD.
*taps forehead*
Well dang. Finally discovered this comic was being made, and already almost done with Hikerville. Can’t wait to see more of this amazing story.
Oh god J what the fuck.
The pilot augs were originally a super-soldier program. Then they made mechs that required those to pilot, and later Assault augs that allow the recipients to match the full destructive power and durability of mechs without leaving the human scale.
J only has pilot augs, and is just below the cutoff for being able to survive Assault augs. She could never take a full mech on her own. But a cheap-ass crowd control mech? She’s JUST BARELY too incompatible to survive the full Assault package, and IIRC being more compatible upgrades the effectiveness of the augs.
