Sorry about the delay! My internet and my electricty were knocked out, so not only was I unable to actually finish the page, I was unable to upload it for a good while, too.
Hopefully we should be back on track now!
A good showing, but now it’s J’s turn and the results are gonna be messy.
I think anything below “hit the weak spot” or “overwhelming force”will do little to nothing to a Drakka. And given the sophisticated armor even that might be light damage only…
The halberd slashing from and through the sound effect box at the first panel is a pretty neat.
I worry a bit about this no-sell. That they carry melee weapons indicates that they are worthwhile, and getting close requires effort while the axe is a big piece of kit for the Goblin. The Goblin may be outclassed here, but it is still a close species of war-machine. Then again it is a bit of a glancing impact and the whole scene is very awesome, so there are no complaints here, but just a suggestion that too much no-selling can make the outcomes too predictable and spoil the mood. I recall this one specific attack in Fooly Cooly that seemed to be about as potent an attack as was possible, hitting as well as it possibly could, and basically did nothing. At that point I became irrecoverably aware the story was on ironclad rails and any threats were arbitrary…
That said, great action scene! The colour-coding works well and the goblin is adorable. The Dragga is really working that glare and the furniture is just tragically cute.
